It can run on multiple cores and though not used here can be expanded to stress other components. I opted to use the standard Linux tool stress which calculates the square root of a random number to stress the CPU. I looked and noticed top had hass at 100% of the CPU. I checked and, indeed, the thing was very sluggish (all aspects: the website, the sensors, etc). The other day my wife was upset because the garage door wasn't responding via home assistant. I've got three entities I'm really using at the moment: a cover (garage door), a binary_sensor (furnace leak), and a sensor (room temperature). I'm using the MQTT server that's built in. I've got a raspberry pi 2 that I'm using as my home assistant machine.
